With the past several months putting the Black Lives Matter movement into the forefront of public consciousness like never before and allies trying to listen, learn and understand why there is such anger, frustration and determination to change the status quo.

The new six-part documentary series from Epix, Enslaved, explores the lost history of the transatlantic slave trade, where Africans were kidnapped from their home and families and trafficked to the New World, as a commodity to be imprisoned and exploited.

More than twelve million Africans were trafficked and more than two million of those died at sea. Samuel L. Jackson follows the efforts of Diving with a Purpose, divers searching for six slave ships that went down with their human cargo, to examine this important chapter in world history and the ideology, economics, politics and aftermath of slavery.

One way to throw off the shackles of the past and create positive change is to use your right to vote.

Vote for better representation, vote for less police brutality, vote for those who will condemn racism and White Supremacists, vote for those who will champion equal rights and opportunity no matter the colour of your skin or where you live or come from.
