That my friend, is one of the dangers of living in a world filled with people with superpowers, just as The Boys have discovered in their own ways.
Amazon Prime Video's television adaptation of the subversive superhero comic book series returns for a sophomore season this September, so get ready for more ultra violent and bloody superpowered action.
The comics created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and brought to the small screen by Eric Kripke, follows Karl Urban's 'Billy Butcher' and his clandestine vigilante team as they target the corporation-created superhero team, 'The Seven', for their own reasons, whether it be missing wives or slaughtered girlfriends.
The difference with these 'heroes' created by Vought International, is that they've been corrupted by their egos and powers, using their abilities for murder, rape, fame and glory.
Antony Starr's sadistic 'Homelander' leads the 'Supes', including Jessie T. Usher's speedster 'A-Train', Chace Crawford's aquatic-powered 'The Deep', Dominique McElligott's warrior woman 'Queen Maeve', Nathan Mitchell's silent 'Black Noir' and Erin Moriarty's neophyte light-emitting heroine, 'Starlight' (who's working with 'Hughie' from the inside to expose powers-that-be behind the Seven).
The team also welcomes the powerful 'Stormfront' to their ranks this season (played by Aya Cash), replacing creepy invisible member 'Translucent', another alpha type to butt heads with Homelander.
Billy and his black ops squad of Jack Quaid's newcomer 'Hughie Campbell', Laz Alonso's 'Mother's Milk', Tomor Capon's 'Frenchie' and Karen Fukuhara's rescued feral 'Kimiko' aka 'The Female', have to deal with the fallout of the revelations from the first season, like a super-powered child and their status as fugitives.
The real question is, will they all survive trying to take down these corrupt and murderous supes when the lasers and lightning starts flying.
