Following on from the critically-acclaimed Watchmen limited series, HBO is back with a new fright-filled series celebrating pulp fiction and exploring race in America, Lovecraft Country.
Based on Matt Ruff's 2016 dark fantasy horror novel, the supernatural drama is set in 1955 and follows a traumatised American young soldier, 'Atticus Black' (Jonathan Majors), newly returned home from Korea, who takes a road trip across the segregated U.S. with his friend 'Leti' (Jurnee Smollett) and his 'Uncle George' (Courtney B. Vance) to find his missing father.
Their journey becomes one of survival, as they face not only the racist terrors of white America, but actual monsters that could be ripped from a H. P. Lovecraft paperback.
These Lovecraftian series launch billboards were spotted haunting the skies along Sunset Boulevard and Pico Boulevard from July 21 to July 30, 2020.
Fans of Jurnee Smollett can also enjoy these Birds of Prey movie billboards and these Underground TV series billboards.
With compelling new movies like Get Out and Us supplying the horror scares on the big screen in recent years, let's see if this Misha Green-helmed show will be the next must-see fright fest on your watch list this summer.
UPDATED: Here's also some 'For your consideration' billboards for the series for the winter awards season.
These review-laden HBO FYC billboards were spotted along Sunset Boulevard on January 8, 2021.
