Palm Springs movie billboard...

Palm Springs movie billboard
Greetings from Palm Springs!

That's right, during these uncertain pandemic times Daily Billboard has been working remotely from the desert resort town to try and stay safe and healthy (with some occasional field trips back to Los Angeles to capture as many fresh new billboards as possible).

Coincidentally, there's a new original film available to stream on Hulu that's all about what it's like to live in Palm Springs (maybe).

In the grand tradition of Groundhog Day, Russian Doll and Happy Death Day, this inventive romantic comedy stars Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti as attendees at a Palm Springs wedding who get caught in an infinite time loop, unable to escape the venue, themselves, or each other.

Things take a crazy turn when they start wrecking havoc on the wedding celebration and finding new ways to relive the same day.

Now it's back to the very important business of enjoying the rest of this weekend. Where's the pool float and cheeky cocktail? And repeat.

UPDATED: Here's also more outdoor support for the Hulu movie spotted along La Cienega Boulevard, Beverly Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on July 21, 2020.

Fun fact, the comedy was principally filmed in Palmdale and not the desert resort city it's named after.

Regardless of its actual location, that pool likes pretty inviting this summer with its pool floats and adult beverages.

With studios in the industry having conversations about theatrical release windows, it's interesting to think what would have happened if this movie had been released in cinemas first rather than straight to streaming because of the pandemic.

It's sink or swim at the competitive summer box office, so maybe this was the best approach for Palm Springs after all.
