This Emmy season people are doing things a little bit different. The skies of L.A. are still full of traditional Emmy consideration billboards, but some TV shows and studios have opted to take a different approach with their usual outdoor campaigns.
Take for example CBS. By the looks of things they'll chosen to use their usual Emmy billboard spaces to help worthy causes during this unusual times in our society.
From the looks of these billboards, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, known for his political satire and commentary about the current administration, has chosen to throw their weight behind Fair Fight Action to raise awareness about voter suppression by Republicans and to give all Americans an equal opportunity to vote.
These evocative Fair Fight voting billboards trying to keep democracy alive were photographed along the Sunset Strip, La Brea Avenue and Olympic Boulevard on July 8, 2020.
Another CBS late-night host choosing a cause to champion this season is James Corden of The Late Late Show, working to raise the profile of The Trevor Project, a suicide prevention hotline for LGBTQ+ youth.
It's amazing to think that acceptance from just one adult can help so many young people struggling with their sexuality or their friends and families attitudes to them.
These vibrant billboards supporting The Trevor Project were snapped standing out along Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard on July 8, 2020.
CBS All Access was uniting its Star Trek shows, Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard, to offer some words of wisdom for the future with these billboards supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and supporting the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
These billboards certainly live up to the spirit of Gene Roddenberry, the visionary science fiction franchise's creator, spotted along Pico Boulevard and Venice Boulevard on July 8, 2020, and the following day.
Make sure you also check out these other billboards supporting the Black Lives Matter movement currently standing out in the streets of Tinseltown.
Meanwhile this Emmy season NBC Entertainment was using its outdoor FYC ads to support those in need during this global coronavirus pandemic, be they those working in the entertainment industry, the record numbers of people unemployed and those struggling day-to-day to feed and house their families.
These cause-related For Your Consideration billboards were photographed along the Sunset Strip, Melrose Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard on July 8, 2020.
If you can help those in need during these uncertain times, you can visit organisations like Feeding America, Entertainment Industry Foundation, The Actors Fund and Save The Children, as just a few suggestions.
This outdoor campaign is also reminiscent of the recent Amazon COVID-19 relief billboards that appeared around Los Angeles during May and June, also hoping to help people in need.
It's been really interesting to see the out-of-home landscape reflect the health crisis and cultural shifts we are currently living through over the recent weeks and months, and Daily Billboard is sure it will continue to act as a mirror for this chaotic moment in time.
