With the Black Lives Matter movement never having been more front of mind, there's never been a better time for Disney+ to release the new film and visual album by Beyoncé, Black Is King.
The visual album is written, directed and executive produced by the global superstar celebrates Black resilience and culture.
The film is based on the music of The Lion King: The Gift, the soundtrack she curated to accompany the 2019 remake of the animated classic, for which she voiced the character of 'Nala'.
The project for the streaming platform reimagines the lessons of The Lion King, celebrating Black traditions and excellence in a tale of a young king's transcendent journey through betrayal, love and self-identity with the help of his ancestors, his father's teachings and guidance of his childhood love, to reclaim his home and throne.
These impactful movie billboards were spotted along the Sunset Strip, La Brea Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from July 21 to July 23, 2020.
