This time around Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is set in pre-World War II world of Los Angeles, a melting pot of urban growth, ethnicities, folklore and religions.

In 1938 L.A. during the Golden Age of Hollywood, Daniel Zovatto plays the LAPD's first Mexican-American detective 'Tiago Vega' and Nathan Lane is his veteran partner, 'Lewis Michener', who are assigned to investigate a gruesome murder scene.

Natalie Dormer plays a chaos-loving, shape-shifting demon named 'Magda', stoking the fans of racial and religious extremism in the growing city.
Whilst one of her ancient adversaries in the series is Lorenza Izzo's 'Santa Muerte', the Angel of Holy Death.
These series launch billboards were photographed around the streets of La La Land, including along the Sunset Strip, Santa Monica Boulevard, Hollywood Boulevard, Westwood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue from April 2 to April 22, 2020.
