The Invisible Man isn't the only work of English writer H. G. Wells to find its way onto the screen this year, as the timeless classic War of the Worlds gets given a modern retelling on television in the U.S. courtesy of Epix this February.
Set in present day Europe and starring Gabriel Byrne and Elizabeth McGovern, when astronomers detect proof of intelligent extraterrestrial life the world's population waits for further contact, but it soon becomes apparent that these visitors do not come in peace.
Within days humanity is all but wiped out by the alien invaders and only pockets of mankind are left to survive on an almost deserted world.
These foreboding series launch billboards were photographed along Sepulveda Boulevard, Robertson Boulevard, La Cienega Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard on February 20, 2020.
Fans of Gabriel Byrne can also check out these In Treatment billboards, whilst Elizabeth McGovern admirers can enjoy these Downton Abbey movie billboards.
This series originally premiered in France in October 2019 and the BBC also produced a recent three-part The War of the World mini-series set in Edwardian times which aired in the U.K. at the end of 2019, so obviously enough time has passed since the 2005 movie starring Tom Cruise for others to revive and reimagine the science fiction classic for brand new audiences.
