BEST SPECIAL INSTALLATION BILLBOARD 2019
'KISS'. Keep it simple, stupid. That's what they tell marketeers all the time (along with 'Sex sells') and it looks like the folks at Adult Swim were listening with this celebratory season ten ticker tape billboard for the stop-motion animated series, Robot Chicken. What Daily Billboard loves about this eye-catching gimmick is that it's so simple, it couldn't have cost that much money to create or install (someone glued some shiny, different colour metallic foil strips to the vinyl) and it's highly effective at standing out and creating a spectacle.
BEST FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION BILLBOARD 2019
More and more television shows and movies seem to be using out-of-home media to campaign for industry awards consideration, so making yourself seen is becoming more and more important in a crowded city skyline. This year late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel really stood out campaigning for Emmy consideration with this 'For your accidental consideration' billboard, which is a spoof of the key art for the sixth season of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (the current reigning champion of late-night variety shows).

Over the past few years the television landscape has become even more competitive with new streaming services offering a plethora of original content, whilst cable channels started spending more and more on the production values of their shows. To say there's been an explosion of television shows advertising in the city skyline is no exaggeration, but there was one series that was the most anticipated of the year and that was the final season of HBO's fantasy epic, Game of Thrones.

Fans may not have been satisfied by the outcome of the fantasy drama, but there was no way they could have been disappointed with these season eight teaser billboards for Game of Thrones, making everyone wonder who would claim the Iron Throne of Westeros.
Would it be the 'Mother of Dragons', scheming 'Cersei Lannister', the mysterious 'Night King', the noble 'Jon Snow', or one of the other myriad and complex characters from the show?
In addition to special extension cut-outs and standard billboards featuring all these key characters, the throne later morphed into the spiky face of a dragon, making this an epic, unmissable outdoor campaign.
