Happy New Year's Eve! By this stage, who doesn't want to kick the rotten 2020 to the curb and start anew with a fresh, shiny New Year.
This year we've learned who the real essential workers are. From doctors, nurses and healthcare workers on the frontlines, to the cleaners, delivery drivers, grocery store workers, teachers, postal workers, restaurant staff and everyone else trying to keep everyone, healthy, fed and supported during these challenging times.
2020 also demonstrated the power of your vote to make meaningful change and whilst people wait for some kind of stimulus check to make up for months of unemployment, to help keep them afloat, with food and roof over their head, there's one last battle to be waged.
Unless Democrats take back the Senate in the Georgia runoff elections, don't expect Mitch McConnell to stop obstructing progress. The divide between rich and poor will continue to grow ever wider, whilst people continue to lose their jobs, homes and healthcare. So it truly is time to kick 2020 in the ballots for one last time.
The Freeform voting billboard was captured along Highland Avenue on November 10 (intended to encourage Americans to exercise their democratic right to vote in the U.S. Presidential Election), whilst the 'Bye 2020' Adult Swim billboard was snapped along the Sunset Strip on December 20, 2020.
And now for a reality check. The early months of 2021 may be even worse than the whole of 2020, with increases in infections and deaths, COVID-19 fatigue and the idiots still refusing to wear masks and follow simple social distancing advice.
The good news is that at least three vaccines are on the way and a whole new administration in the U.S. to try and get this travesty under control.
So farewell 2020, and don't let the door hit you on your way out.
Grab a bottle of bubbly and may the Force be with you Georgia.
