Once again it's that time of year to make merry and check out all the winter award consideration billboards flooding the sprawling city skyline (weather permitting).
At this year's
Emmy Awards in September,
Netflix took home 27 trophies out of a possible 117 nominations, which is not surprising given the sheer volume and breadth of programming on offer from the streaming giant.
Here's a look at some of the contenders this awards season, along with
Netflix's original movie hopefuls,
The Irishman and
Marriage Story, trying to stand out in
Hollywoodland's skies.
First up is this colourful consideration billboard for
Ryan Murphy's debut project for
Netflix, The Politician starring
Ben Platt as an aspiring future leader of
America, snapped beside the

Next up is another new offering from the streaming service, this time

Living With Yourself.

More familiar names hoping to attract attention this awards season are
Toni Collette, Merritt Wever and
Kaitlyn Dever in the rape drama mini-series,
Unbelievable.
Based on a true story (and inspired by a 2105 news article),
Collette and
Wever play detectives who investigate a teenager who was charged with lying about being raped, to uncover the truth.

Another
Netflix limited series hoping to attract attention this awards season is
The Spy, starring
Sacha Baron Cohen in a more dramatic role than his usual comedic performances.
Inspired by real events, the actor plays
Israel's top
Mossad spy
Eli Cohen in the six-episode mini-series.
The streaming release billboards were spied above the
Sunset Strip and
San Vicente Boulevard from September 4 to September 13, whilst the
FYC version was snapped along the
Sunset Strip on November 9, 2019.
Netflix's Groundhog Day comedy,
Russian Doll starring
Natasha Lyonne, has enjoyed its share of acclaim and accolades already this year, but can the show take home any
Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards or
Critics' Choice Awards this season?
These special extension cut-out billboards for the freshman comedy series were spotted along the
Sunset Strip on November 21, 2019, and above
Santa Monica Boulevard the next day.
Ava DuVernay's When They See Us mini-series received sixteen
Emmy nominations this year, but only took home two, including for
Outstanding Casting and Lead Actor in a Limited Series, Jharrel Jerome for his stunning portrayal of one of the falsely accused and convicted men in the 1989
Central Park jogger case.

Another original film in the mix this winter awards season is the biographical comedy,
Dolemite Is My Name.
Eddie Murphy stars as the 1970s filmmaker Rudy Ray Moore, best known for portraying the character of 'Dolemite' in his sand-up routine and a series of Blaxploitation movies.

French-language fantasy drama,

The streaming giant was also delivering some
Christmas cheer this month with the animated festive tale,
