Written by Shia LaBeouf whilst he was in drugs rehab, the film is inspired by his time as a child actor and older movie star, plus his fraught relationship with his father and his own struggles with mental health.
Lucas Hedges plays the 22-year-old 'Otis', whilst Noah Jupe stars as his younger 12-year-old self and Shia LaBeouf is his troubled father 'James Lort', a former rodeo clown.
