In addition to this wealth of previously released, beloved movies and television shows, Disney+ will also sport brand new original content, like the first ever live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, staring Pedro Pascal in the titular role.
Other announced projects from a galaxy far, far away include an 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' series with Ewan McGregor respiring his role as the infamous Jedi and a Rogue-One spin-off prequel series featuring Diego Luna's 'Cassian Andor'.
In addition to being the first streamer to host the $1.1 billion box office smash Captain Marvel, Disney+ also has new Marvel television projects in development based on established MCU characters like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki and Hawkeye, plus fan-favourites characters never before brought to life in live-action, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight.
Following the recent acquisition of key entertainment assets from 20th Century Fox, the platform will also not only be joined by 'Bart Simpson' and his animated family, but by new takes on the Home Alone, Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Cheaper by the Dozen film franchises.
Access to these thousands of movies and TV shows, from family-friendly animation, Oscar winners, sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, drama, musicals, nature documentaries and more, will cost U.S. subscribers just $6.99 per month.
New episodes will be released week-by-week rather than available all at once to binge, helping to lock subscribers in for longer.
