Thirty-seven years after the cult classic film, it's time to return to the planet of Thra and learn the story of how the evil reptilian vulture-like Skeksis came to power and a growing uprising against their cruel rule in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
Jim Henson's Creature Shop and director Louis Leterrier bring the dark fantasy to life with an all-star cast of voice talent and puppeteers.
This time around the heroic trio of Gelflings on a quest to save their planet are 'Rian' (voiced by Taron Egerton and puppeteered by Neil Sterenberg), 'Deet' (voiced by Nathalie Emmanuel and puppeteered by Becca Henderson) and 'Princess Brea' (voiced by Anna Taylor Joy and puppeteered by Alice Dinneran).
From the looks of things we'll see more of the peace-loving Mystics and the wise astronomer 'Aughra' (this time voiced by Donna Kimball), plus hopefully there'll be Podlings, Fizzgigs, Landstriders, Garthim and more magical creatures to delight nostalgic and new viewers alike.
Plus Age of Resistance viewers will also recognize other familiar voices like Jason Isaacs, Simon Pegg, Benedict Wong, Mark Hamill, Awkwafina, Harvey Fierstein, Andy Samberg and Eddie Izzard, bringing the puppet characters to life.
