After seemingly defeating the shape-shifting entity that preyed on children in the summer of 1989, the Losers' Club returns to Derry as grown ups to find that the monster from their childhoods is still very much alive.
Twenty-seven years later a phone call brings the childhood friends back to face Bill SkarsgÄrd's terrifying clown and their own fears, after they have seemingly forgotten they faced his evil all those years ago.
James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Jay Ryan, James Ransone and Andy Bean are all drawn back by a grown up 'Mike' (played by Isaiah Mustafa), the only one of their group to stay in their Maine hometown, in the supernatural horror sequel.

It's amazing that a red balloon has become synonymous with the killer clown, so you immediately know that two cut-out extension balloons mean more fearsome frights to come.

They say IT ends this September is some of the other marketing materials, but if the film is a box office smash, will Warner Bros. Studios be tempted to fill the skies with three red balloons in the future, or is that a nightmare that really shouldn't happen?
