The film features three generations of crime-fighters, Richard Roundtree as the legendary private investigator, 'John Shaft Sr', from the 1971 original and its sequels, Samuel L. Jackson as cop 'John Shaft II' his nephew from the 2000 movie and his on-screen son and FBI agent 'John "JJ" Shaft Jr.' played by Jessie Usher (with the added star power of Regina Hall as his mother and Shaft II's ex).
In the action-comedy from director Tim Story, JJ turns to his estranged father when his best friend is killed under suspicious circumstances and he needs help navigating New York's Harlem underworld, leading to a multi-generational team-up.
These eye-catching movie billboards were snapped along Westwood Boulevard, La Brea Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard from May 21 to May 28, 2019.
Samuel L. Jackson fans can also enjoy these Glass movie billboards, these movie billboards for The Hitman's Bodyguard and these billboards for Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Plus for more Jessie Usher you can also check out these billboards for TV's Survivor's Remorse.
Only tell whether this combination of old and new blood can appeal to a new generation of viewers and restore Shaft to his iconic cultural status.
