The long-gestating film from Oscar-winning writer Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) and director and Oscar nominee J.C. Chandor (All is Lost, A Most Violent Year) boasts a cast of recognisable Hollywood names like Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, Pedro Pascal and Adria Arjona.
In the movie the guys play five former Special Forces operatives, who have loyally served their country in the past on dangerous missions, but this time around plan a heist in a sparsely populated multi-border zone of South America for their own benefit.
As with most best laid plans, this risky mission of self-interest takes a deadly turn and things spiral out of control, testing the men's skills, loyalty and their morals as they battle to stay alive.
The weather has been temperamental of late in L.A., with lots of cloud and rain and this myriad of billboards for the movie were snapped from February 25 to March 4, 2019.
In fact, since the streaming giant has bought all its new multiple billboard sites along the Sunset Strip it seems like all their big projects, both film and television, receive triple the amount of outdoor support these days.
Let's face it, you really can't miss all these billboards for Triple Frontier, westbound and eastbound along the busy commuter artery.
Meanwhile fans can also check out these Ben Affleck movie billboards, like Argo, The Accountant and Live By Night, these Sons of Anarchy TV billboards and King Arthur movie billboards for Charlie Hunnam and this Tron: Legacy billboard with Garrett Hedlund.
Plus these Oscar Isaac billboards for films like Life Itself, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Operation Finale and these Pedro Pascal billboards for Narcos and The Great Wall.
It sounds like this movie took a long time to get made and whether it's shown on the big or small screen, let's hope it's worth the price it took.
UPDATED: This vertical billboard spotted along Wilshire Boulevard on the side of the iPic Westwood cinema consisely conveys the plot of the movie and was snapped on March 19, 2019.
