Brit Marling is back as 'Prairie Johnson', although she prefers to be called 'The OA', a blind young woman who disappeared for seven years and returned to her adoptive parent's home able to see again.
With her eyesight restored she assembled a group of locals, including four students and a teacher, and told them her life story, including where she'd been all those years.
She claims to have been kidnapped and held hostage for years by a doctor (played by Jason Isaacs), who experimented on her and other captives and that she can rescue these other missing people by opening a portal to another dimension.
From the looks of things her transdimensional plan worked and we'll get to see more mind-bending sci-fi and parallel worlds this season.
