Hulu, Amazon and other winter 2018 For your consideration TV and movie billboards...

Today the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announces this year's Golden Globe Award nominations, so let's see if any of this billboard campaigning in the skies of L.A. has helped these TV shows, documentaries and movies.

In addition to Netflix and HBO, the streaming subscription platform Hulu has also had quite the presence in the city skyline for its original programming these past few weeks, including these 'For your consideration' billboards for its freshman Stephen King psychological horror anthology series, Castle Rock.
These eye-catching Hulu FYC billboards shining a spotlight on Sissy Spacek were spotted along La Cienega Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard from November 24 to November 27, 2018.
The first season of Hulu's adaptation of Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel, The Handmaid's Tale, won two Golden Globes and the sophomore season took home three Emmys.

How will the drama, which paints a very bleak possible future for women in America, fare this winter awards season?
These season two FYC billboards for the "Brilliantly acted" show were snapped above the Sunset Strip and Beverly Boulevard from November 15 to November 25, 2018.
Hulu's mini-series about the CIA and FBI rivalry that led to the tragic events of 9/11 nabbed four Emmy nominations for the drama and its stars, including Jeff Daniels and Michael Stuhlbarg, earlier this year.
Maybe this redacted review FYC billboard for the limited series, spotted above Cahuenga Boulevard on November 24, 2018, help garner some more accolades this winter.
In the world of documentaries, Stephen Maing's film Crime + Punishment focused on a group of NYPD officers bravely exposing the truth about illegal quota practices in police departments in New York City.
The documentary release date billboard was snapped along La Cienega Boulevard on August 23, 2018, whilst the 'For your consideration' billboard was spied along Pico Boulevard on November 27, 2018.

This awards season Amazon Prime Video was championing its British mini-series, A Very English Scandal, around L.A.

Based on the true story, Hugh Grant stars as U.K. member of Parliament 'Jeremy Thorpe', who in 1979 was tried and later acquitted for the attempted murder of his ex-lover, 'Norman Scott' (played by Ben Whishaw).
These Union Flag FYC billboards for the drama about dark secrets and political cover-ups in 1960s and 1970s Britain were photographed along Pico Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard from November 4 to November 24, 2018.
Amazon Studios was also shining a spotlight on its contender for best Foreign Language Feature, Cold War, by Pawel Pawlikowski.

The historical period drama is about a passionate love story set against the Cold War in 1950s Poland, Berlin, Yugoslavia and Paris, starring Tomasz Kot as a musical director and Joanna Kulig as a singer he discovers.

Back in the world of cable television and USA Network was supporting the second season of its anthology crime drama, The Sinner.
For its debut season the series and Jessica Biel received critical acclaim, and Golden Globe and Emmy nominations, so can the second storyline once again starring Bill Pullman as 'Detective Harry Ambrose' and newcomer Carrie Coon involved in an 11-year-old boy's murder of his parents, repeat the show's previous awards success?
These season two FYC billboards were spotted above the Sunset Strip and San Vicente Boulevard from November 13 to November 24, 2018.

In the world of motion pictures, Damien Chazelle's Neil Armstrong biopic First Man may not be as buzz worthy as his Oscar-winning La La Land smash hit, but maybe a few key nominations this awards season may help reignite audience and critics interest the film about the first manned landing on the Moon.
These 'For your consideration' ad creatives focusing on Ryan Gosling as the astronaut and his wife 'Janet' (played by Claire Foy) were captured along the Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Boulevard from November 21 to November 27, 2018.
Another film hoping for some recognition this season is Felix van Groeningen's Beautiful Boy, based on the best-selling memoirs of by father and son 'David' and 'Nic Sheff', played respectively by Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet.
The biographical drama chronicles the cycle of the teenage boy's drug addiction, recovery and relapse and its effect on the family and their strained relationships.
The theatrical release billboards for Beautiful Boy were snapped along Olympic Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard from September 27 to October 13, whilst the FYC version was spied above the Sunset Strip on November 24, 2018.
And finally for this collection of awards consideration ads, these billboards for National Geographic's documentary film, Free Solo, were photographed at Hollywood's Sunset & Vine on November 24, 2018.
