TV spin-offs like Lethal Weapon, Minority Report and Limitless and nostalgic TV remakes like MacGyver, Dynasty and Ironside have offered up their share of hits and misses and now it's the turn of Magnum P.I. to be reimagined for a new generation.
The original series Magnum, P.I., starring Tom Selleck, ran for eight seasons from 1980 to 1988 and the show featuring the private investigator living on Oahu, Hawaii and became iconic because of his impressive mustache, short shorts and red Ferrari 308 GTS car.
This fall TV season Jay Hernandez will provide a modern take on the classic character as 'Thomas Magnum', a former decorated Navy SEAL, who after returning from Afghanistan applies his resourceful military skills to becoming a private eye and lives and provides extra security on a luxury estate of a disavowed M:16 agent, 'Juliet Higgins' (played by Perdita Weeks).
This Hawaiian shirt-themed launch billboard for the new series was photographed above Fairfax Avenue and Beverly Boulevard on August 5, 2018.
Say "Aloha" to all-new cars, cases, intrigue and action with the brand new Magnum P.I. (no comma required).

UPDATED: Here's also a vertical ad creative for the reboot show, spotted along the Sunset Strip on August 21, 2018.

And it looks like they are going with a whole different colour Hawaiian shirt theme here, as this blue billboard suggests along La Cienega Boulevard on August 22, 2018.

Plus here's a yellow billboard creative spotted the next day along Fairfax Avenue.

And here's a green version spied westbound along Santa Monica Boulevard at Vine Street on August 24, 2018.
