This year streaming giant Netflix seems to have made it their mission to dominate the city skyline with their extensive outdoor Emmy consideration campaign.
This year the eligibility period for Emmy consideration is June 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018, and voting begins June 11 and ends June 25, with nominations announced July 12, 2018. that's why the sprawling city skies have become a feeding frenzy for Emmy billboards this month.
Netflix temporarily leapfrogged above Disney as the world's largest media company with the announcement that the Obamas would be creating content for the streaming giant so it's no wonder they want to make their presence felt around the world's entertainment capital.

As you can see, having this much content to stream can be a costly affair when it comes to running an outdoor Emmy campaign. It may not be cohesive, but it's certainly heavy-weight, so let's hope it all pays off in terms of nominations this year.
