The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks TV movie adapts Rebecca Skloot's 2010 nonfiction book for the small screen and tells the story of 'Henrietta Lacks', who unbeknownst to her had a tissue sample of the 'immortal' cell line, known as HeLa, harvested from her cervical cancer cells in 1951 that went on to revolutionise biomedical research.

In the adaptation Rose Byrne stars as the journalist (and book author) trying to convince Henrietta's daughter, 'Deborah' (played by Oprah Winfrey), that she can tell the truth of her mother's story, giving her the credit she deserved.
It's amazing to think that this breach of ethics supplied a strain of hardy cells in laboratory conditions, allowing more time for examination, that helped the development of pharmaceutical drugs and treatments to combat the likes of cancer and AIDS.
These HBO TV movie billboards were snapped along La Brea Avenue, Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard from March 29 to April 10, 2017.
