The slow burn period spy drama set in 1980s Washington, D.C. focuses on covert married KGB operatives living the suburban American Dream with their own family and posing as travel agents whilst they carry out clandestine missions for Mother Russia.
Not only do Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell's deep-cover 'Philip and Elizabeth Jennings' live across the street from their FBI neighbour 'Stan' (Noah Emmerich), but over the seasons their Soviet schemes and odd behaviour has caught the attention of their religious teenage daughter 'Paige' (Holly Taylor).
After sharing the truth with their eldest child, they begin to train her in the art of spycraft, whilst protecting their family from the U.S. government and their own KGB handlers.
These striking season five billboards for The Americans were all spied along Pico Boulevard, including on the side of L.A.'s Fox Studios, on February 22, 2017.
The eye-catching red, blue and yellow colours and the raised fists evoke the iconic 'Rosie the Riveter' World War II propaganda poster color scheme, whilst Philip's wedding ring is also very cleverly prominent in this key art.
Fans of the enthralling espionage drama can also enjoy all these previous season promo billboards for The Americans from 2013 to date.
Last season the show's stars were finally recognised with nominations for the Emmys and Golden Globe Awards, so let's see if this new installment of deadly episodes can secure a win for either of them.

In light of recent dabbling in world elections, covert lobbying and cyber attacks, this series has never been more timely or enlightening, although this is one accolade we don't mind the Russians winning.
