Now Ryan Murphy is bringing their animosity to the small screen in his new FX anthology mini-series, Feud: Bette and Joan.
Jessica Lange plays the glamorous Joan Crawford, whilst Susan Sarandon stars as Bette Davis, both successes and longtime rivals through the 1930s and 40s in Hollywoodland, before being forced to work together later in their waning careers in the 1962 low-budget horror film, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
This series takes place during the filming of the now cult hit, and Davis scored a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her rowdy performance as 'Baby Jane', the murderous, unhinged former child star who torments her wheelchair-bound sister, 'Blanche', upstairs in their decaying Hollywood mansion.
These Feud series launch billboards were snapped along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip, La Brea Avenue and Pico Boulevard from February 12 to February 22, 2017.
Fans of Jessica Lange can also check out this American Horror Story: Asylum Emmy campaign billboard.
Get ready for the psychological battle of the century, with on-set tensions, dastardly smear campaigns and outrageous behaviour from all involved in all its campy, epic glory.

UPDATED: Feud: Bette and Joan has certainly made an impression with critics and audiences alike this TV season, so we can probably expect some accolades for Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange to follow.
Here's an Emmy consideration billboard for the limited series to help garner votes snapped along the Sunset Strip on May 8, 2017.

UPDATED: Obviously this is one Feud that viewers and critics alike enjoyed watching on the small screen as the series garnered eighteen Emmy nods, including acting nominations for Susan Sarandon, Jessica Lange, Alfred Molina, Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis and Jackie Hoffman.
These Emmy nominations billboards for Feud: Bette and Joan were spied at Fox Studios and further west along Pico Boulevard on August 5, 2017.
