After footage surfaced of a dog being made to perform a water stunt he didn't want to do by his handlers, PETA and other animal rights groups have called on audiences to boycott A Dog's Purpose (although if they really cared about the treatment of the dog performers, why wait this long to release the footage?).

Based on the best-selling 2010 novel by W. Bruce Cameron, the live-action film seems like a real tear-jerker as it follows the reincarnated life of a devoted dog called 'Bailey' (voiced by Josh Gad) with its various owners as different dog breeds over five decades.
However, there's one special kindred spirit called 'Ethan' the canine meets as a pup (played by Riverdale's K.J. Apa) and reunites with in later life (played by Dennis Quaid), when he needs the help of man's best friend once again.
Regardless of the scandal, this is a great outdoor ad campaign for the movie. These adorable movie billboards and street posters were spied around the streets of L.A., along Melrose Avenue, Sunset Boulevard, Fairfax Avenue, Wilshire Boulevard and Highland Avenue, from December 27, 2016 to January 26, 2017.Dog lovers can also check out these fun movie billboards for The Secret Life of Pets from last year, these recent Banana Republic Holidays billboards and these Marmaduke movie billboards from 2010.
Will you be giving all these dogs a purpose this January? After all, how could you say no to that face and those eyes.
