You can tell it's Christmastime when an animated movie is having fun in the city skies and filling the skyline with cute animal billboards, with this year's festive box office offering being the talent competition comedy, Sing.

Earlier this year in the Spring we were introduced to another world filled with anthropomorphised animal characters in Disney's cop buddy movie, Zootopia, this time it's the turn of these fame-hungry, all-singing, all-dancing hopefuls to capture your imagination.
In this world inhabited by animals a koala named 'Buster Moon' (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) has one chance to save his once-grand theatre that has fallen on hard times, produce the world's greatest singing competition in the vein of American Idol or The Voice.

And from the looks of all these different billboards, there's an eclectic bunch of characters wanting their chance in the spotlight.
Giving the animal characters voice in this movie include the likes of Nick Kroll as 'Gunter' the scene-stealing pig (doing his best Flashdance impression - eat your heart out Jennifer Beals), Scarlett Johansson as 'Ash' a porcupine, Taron Egerton as 'Johnny' the gorilla, Reese Witherspoon as another pig 'Rosita', Seth McFarlane as 'Mike' a crooning mouse and many more familiar voices besides.
2016 has turned out to be a pretty rough year so far, so a joyful computer-animated comedy for the holiday season is just what the doctor ordered.
The standard landscape guitar playing porcupine 'Ash' billboard creative was first spied along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip on November 14, then addition smaller ads and special extension cut-outs were spotted along Beverly Boulevard, Olympic Boulevard and Pico Boulevard and more through December 3, 2016.Meanwhile the giant-sized 'Gunter' pig billboards were spotted towering over the busy intersection of Franklin Avenue and Highland Avenue on November 25, 2016.
For more Illumination Entertainment animated movies, make sure you also check out these fun movie billboards for The Secret Life of Pets, these Despicable Me and Minions movie billboards and these film billboards for Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.
Just like the animals in this movie, Sing faces some tough competition at the box office this festive season with Assassin's Creed, Why Him?, Fences, Collateral Beauty and a bevy of Oscar contenders all trying to pocket your hard-earned cash.
Let's hope that Sing can end the year on a high note and take home the prize for best light-hearted whimsy of the holiday season, and make sure you follow your dreams in 2017 no matter the obstacles you may face.
