TV WEEK: Transparent season three billboards...

Transparent season 3 billboard
What's that expression, "you can't choose your family", and truer words have never been spoken about the 'Pfeffermans' in Amazon's original series, Transparent.

Maura Pfefferman's trans journey from retired college professor to living her truest self as a woman in her 70's should be enough material for any comedy drama, but add into the mix her narcissistic L.A. family, and her ongoing story is even more complex and riveting.

Transparent has covered everything from imploding realtionships, sexual awakenings and exploration of identity to LGBT history, but its Maura's adult children (played by Gabby Hoffman, Jay Duplass and Amy Landecker) and needy ex-wife (Judith Light) that make her character's trials and tribulations even more sympathetic, as they are so immature and self-involved most of the time.

This season three painted family portrait by Gill Button/Illustration Division, was snapped along La Brea Avenue at Sunset Boulevard on September 16, 2016.

The vibrant illustrated nature of the ad design really helps it stand out and cut through the clutter of all the new Fall TV season shows currently in the city skyline.
