When our heroine 'Claire Randall' (Caitriona Balfe) fell back through time from her husband in 1945 to 1743, she was ultimately forced to marry the passionate Scots warrior 'Jamie Fraser' (Sam Heughan) in order to survive (lucky the two of them hit it off). Her World War II nursing skills come in handy with all the violent skirmishes between the Highlanders and the English Redcoats, and her brave Scotsman rescued her from a violent rape at the hands of her 'future' husband's sadistic ancestor 'Black Jack Randall' (Tobias Menzies).
Now married and having survived many trials and tribulations together, the pregnant Frasers head to the safety of France to try and avert a future disaster at the Battle of Culloden.
