What we didn't realize at first glance was that the girl in this road trip ad creative is actually the lovely actress Ellen Page (from the likes of Juno, the X-Men movies, Inception and Freeheld) and her best pal, Ian Daniel, who set off to explore LGBT cultures all around the world in this Viceland documentary series.
In addition to visiting far off lands like Brazil, Japan and Jamaica, they're also investigating shores closer to home in the USA, and you may have remembered when the publicly out actress (as of February 2014) confronted Republican Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz about LGBT rights on the campaign trail in Iowa in August last year.
The not so funny thing about a 'Gaycation' is that LGBT people are still treated very differently around the world, so it's not all rainbows, glitter and warm welcomes when gays travel (not to mention for the people having to live every day with such inequality).
This Gaycation series launch billboard was snapped along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip on February 24, 2016.

Vice is well known for its groundbreaking journalism and reportage from around the globe, so if you're a fan be sure to also check out these evocative Vice HBO series billboards from recent years.
Plus you can also check out more LGBT outdoor advertising, featuring other gay TV series, films, services and celebrities here at Daily Billboard (we're one destination which is always gay-friendly).

UPDATED: Gaycation received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program (along with Woman with Gloria Steinem for Outstanding Documentary Series), so Viceland chose to thank TV Academy members for their support for equality (and engender future votes) in one ad creative.
This 'Dear Emmys' billboard was snapped at the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard on August 4, 2016.
