If variety is the spice of life, then the Emmys are adding that spiciness to L.A.'s skies this month with a smattering of Emmy consideration billboards for all kinds of TV genres, from spy thrillers to sitcoms, music dramas to superhero shows and historical series.
First up are these fantastic billboards for NBC's The Blacklist, which looks like it could be part of Universal Television's Vote Emmys FYC campaign, but is also produced at Sony Pictures Television.
When James Spader isn't voicing villainous robotic artificial intelligence's like in this year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, he can be found playing 'Red Reddington', the mysterious Concierge of Crime in The Blacklist, opposite Megan Boone's FBI agent 'Elizabeth Keen'.
These eye-catching special extension and standard billboards for the show's sophomore season were spied along Beverly Boulevard, Fairfax Avenue and Venice Boulevard from May 28 to June 7, 2014.

Next up is another billboard from the world of espionage, but this time from the 1980's Cold War era for FX's Russian sleeper spy series, The Americans.
This adapted season three ad creative featuring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys was an early bird in the Emmy campaigning, with this billboard spied along the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood on April 29, 2015.
Speaking of Americans, this time of a more modern variety, and ABC's racially-charged drama starring Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton, American Crime, is also trying to garner Emmy voter attention this month.
This tailored blue version of the series premiere billboards for American Crime was snapped over Venice Boulevard on June 6, 2015.
And speaking of drama, and the skies wouldn't be complete this Emmy season without the presence of Fox's breakout series, Empire (and Taraji P. Henson's firecracker of a character, 'Cookie Lyon').
This hip-hop musical drama tells the juicy tale of what happens to 'Lucious Lyon's' (Terrence Howard) music empire when he's diagnosed with ALS and needs to find a suitable successor for his family business from his three sons.This delicious Emmy billboard was snapped along Santa Monica Boulevard in West L.A. on May 30, 2015.
Next up is Will Forte sporting an Emmy moustache for his rookie Fox comedy, The Last Man on Earth.
This quirky billboard for the series about a man who finds he may the world's last man alive after a plague wipes out humanity was captured along Pico Boulevard on June 5, 2015.
Meanwhile Bravo, the channel known for its reality show programming, debuted its first ever scripted series last Fall starring Lisa Edelstein in Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce.
Will this bright Emmy consideration billboard, snapped along Wilshire Boulevard on June 7, be able to turn heads in the same way the show's provocative series premiere billboards did?
From comedic fun to more serious fare and Fox's Batman prequel, Gotham, is hoping to garner some Emmy nominations this season.

Comedy Central's shows are known for making us laugh, but so too are the billboards for their shows and their outdoor Emmy campaigns.
This 'Going for gold in a town of plastic' example is no exception and was spied along the Sunset Strip on June 2, 2015.

Next up are slightly more sobering billboards for DirecTV's six-part docu-series about the war in Afghanistan, The Fighting Season.
These outdoor ads for the show which is a cross between a scary reality series and war documentary were snapped along La Cienega Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard from May 19 to June 2, 2015.
Speaking of war and another drama wanting your consideration this year is WGN America's Atomic Bomb period piece, Manhattan, with this billboard spied along Fairfax Avenue on May 2, 2015.
Meanwhile this Emmy consideration billboard for Outlander's first season was spied along Santa Monica Boulevard on May 20, but the Starz show set in 18th century Scottish Highlands also has a fantastic Outlander costume exhibit at The Grove shopping center in L.A. to help support its chances to win Outstanding Costume Design for Terry Dresbach.
Next is the Emmy billboard for The CW's freshman season of Jane the Virgin, which has already earned its star, Gina Rodriguez, a Golden Globe. Can the young star add another award to her mantle?
