No stranger to sports after rising to fame in the World Wrestling Federation, he stars in a new HBO comedy about current and former American Pro Football players both on and off the pitch.
In the new ten-episode series, he plays former superstar 'Spencer Strassmore' trying to get his life on track in retirement, but as the tagline says, 'legends don't retire, they reinvent'.
The big guy's mug is instantly recognizable these days and his gold football championship ring helps convey the sporty theme of the show in these promotional ads.
This giant-sized billboard for Ballers was photographed towering over westbound Sunset Strip on May 28, 2015, whilst the landscape ad versions were snapped further east along Sunset Boulevard and high above Beverly Boulevard and Venice Boulevard the day before.
If you're a fan of the muscle-bound action hero, be sure to also check out this equally giant movie billboard for Hercules, these G.I. Joe: Retaliation movie billboards and these Pain & Gain billboards, to name but a few.
For another side of retirement after Pro Football, be sure to also check out these documentary series billboards for State of Play: Happiness, for a taste of life after the NFL.
Only time will tell whether audiences will be bowled over by Ballers, but one thing's for sure, Dwayne Johnson is one step closer to world domination, at least in Hollywoodland.
Now stay tuned for another specially-themed TV WEEK here at Daily Billboard.
