Leonardo DiCaprio, please visit my website billboard...

Leonardo DiCaprio please visit my website billboard
'Leonardo DiCaprio, please visit my website'.

No, this is not a desperate plea from Daily Billboard to get the Titanic and The Wolf of Wall Street star to visit this blog (if only we were that clever), but this genius idea belongs to a Russian environmentalist who wants the eco-friendly Hollywood activist to support his recycling efforts in his native country.

Using a Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign he's raised the funds required to pay for a $15,000 billboard in L.A. to draw Leonardo DiCaprio's attention (and ours) to his waste-sorting efforts in his home town of Ostashkov, in an effort to inspire his townspeople by getting the endorsement of a famous celebrity. What a great, innovative idea.
like from Leo billboard
This simply executed, but intriguing proposition billboard is a brilliant piece of publicity, and was snapped at the busy intersection of Olympic and La Cienega Boulevards in Los Angeles on November 26, 2014.

Unfortunately this ad location doesn't get direct sunlight at this time of year (obviously this is what $15,000 buys you), but it still caught Daily Billboard's magpie eye.

Only time will tell whether Leonardo DiCaprio will actually 'like' the campaign at the website LikeFromLeo (be sure to check out the video there for the full story), but we hope so (although the cynic in us, hopes this isn't just some elaborate hoax).

The Red Tent TV mini-series billboards...

The Red Tent Lifetime mini-series billboard
Little Red Riding Hood has nothing on these billboards for Lifetime's latest TV mini-series, The Red Tent.
Red Tent miniseries billboard
The big screen isn't the only place mining the Old Testament for films like Exodus: Gods and Kings, as on the small screen Lifetime has adapted Anita Daimant's 1997 best-selling novel, The Red Tent, bringing the pages of the Bible to life.
Red Tent tv mini series billboard
Rebecca Ferguson stars as 'Dinah', the daughter of 'Leah' and 'Jacob' and the two-part TV event is told through her eyes in ancient times of tradition and turmoil, as she remembers gathering with the other women of her tribe in the 'red tent', where women go to give birth, whilst having their period, or when they are ill.
Red Tent miniseries billboard
These billboards for the Biblical mini-series are bold, striking and coincidentally festive for the holiday season, and were snapped above L.A.'s Sunset Plaza and at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard on November 21, 2014.
Red Tent Lifetime billboard
If you're a fan of the actress, be sure to also check out The White Queen billboards, where she played 'Queen Elizabeth', the wife of 'King Edward IV' in the 15th century England.

Daily Billboard is sure this isn't the last religious-themed series we'll see in the skies of L.A. in the coming months.

Exodus: Gods and Kings movie billboards...

Exodus Gods and Kings Red Sea billboard
Ridley Scott is not the fist director to adapt the Exodus story from the Old Testament, as most of us remember Charlton Heston as a bearded 'Moses' in Cecil B. DeMile's 1956 classic, The Ten Commandments, but you know with the visionary filmmaker behind such iconic screen gems as Alien, Bladerunner and Gladiator, that this sand-and-sandals retelling is bound to be epic.
Exodus Gods and Kings Ramesses Moses billboard
In fact, even though the Biblical film looks like it'll have the familiar miraculous parting of the Red Sea, it looks like this Moses, played by Christian Bale, is not afraid to get his hands dirty fighting for the freedom of the Israelite slaves from the Egyptian Pharaoh 'Ramesses II' (Joel Edgerton).
Exodus Gods and Kings movie billboard
With modern day computer-generated special effects you know that Ten Plagues of Egypt will look more realistic and apocalyptic than ever before, and the sword and chariot fight scenes will be legendary, but will this motion picture adaptation appeal to, or offend religious audiences.
Exodus Gods and Kings film billboard
The Exodus billboard featuring a dueling Ramesses and Moses was first spied along Sunset Boulevard on November 20 and later along La Cienega Boulevard on November 26, whilst the impressive 'Red Sea' creative was spotted above San Vicente Boulevard and along Westwood Boulevard on November 21, 2014.

If you're a fan of the movie, be sure to also check out these spectacular original costumes from Exodus: Gods and Kings worn by Joel Edgerton and Christian Bale on display, by Oscar-winning designer, Janty Yates.

Plus if you like Biblical epics, be sure to also enjoy these movie billboards for Noah from earlier this Spring, which also featured some serious water effects in the form of the apocalyptic flood to end all floods.

Can Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings restore faith in the box office this holiday season, or will it be an epic failure?

Erewhon organic turkey billboard
For many Thanksgiving can be a stressful celebration with so many guests to cook for, so don't go getting distracted by the game on TV and burn your bird, as that'll be the perfect way to start a family argument (and will forever be brought up at gatherings in the future).
La Brea Bakery burnt turkey billboard
These outdoor ads are two very different approaches to the annual American holiday. This fun burnt turkey La Brea Bakery billboard was spied along La Brea Avenue on November 5, whilst the delicious looking Erewhon Market ad creative was spotted along Fairfax Avenue on November 12, 2014.

Annie movie remake billboards...

Annie movie remake billboard
Orphan Annie is back on the big screen this Christmas, and this time she's got a whole new look.
Annie 2014 movie remake billboard
The traditionally red-haired little girl has received the Hollywood makeover, with Beasts of the Southern Wild's Oscar-nominated Quvenzhan√© Wallis introducing the musical star to a whole new generation.
Annie 2014 movie billboard
Set in modern day New York, this singing and dancing foster kid is living under the cruel care of Cameron Diaz as 'Miss Hannigan', whilst Jamie Foxx's business tycoon mayoral candidate 'Will Stacks', is a contemporary re-imagining of 'Daddy Warbucks' from the original musical comedy-drama.
In the 1982 feature film, which was adapted from the Broadway musical of the same name, Aileen Quinn played the titular 'Annie', with Carol Burnett infamously playing the evil 'Miss Hannigan'.

All these incarnations were based on the 1924 newspaper cartoon strip, Little Orphan Annie, by Harold Gray, so it'll be interesting to see what the kids of today think of this contemporary retelling.

When this orphan is taken in by the mayoral hopeful to as a PR ploy to improve his ratings, can Annie's sun-will-come-out-tomorrow personality show her faux foster father there's more to life than money and politics? You'll just have to watch and see.

These cheery, and very red, billboards for the new Annie movie were first snapped at Sunset & Vine in Hollywood on October 25, plus later along San Vicente Boulevard, Melrose Avenue, Highland Avenue and Beverly Glen Boulevard through November 23, 2014.
Annie movie musical remake billboard
Daily Billboard likes the fun touch of a joyful Annie leaping over and providing the dot over the 'i' of the film title.

This remake of Annie isn't the only big screen musical hitting cinemas this holiday season, as Disney's Into the Woods will open a week later on Christmas Day, so it looks like it will be a sing off for box office supremacy.

Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss My Burberry fragrance billboards...

My Burberry fragrance billboard
To launch their latest fragrance, My Burberry, the British designer fashion label known for their signature trench coats, employed not just one supermodel, but two, in the form of hot young thing Cara Delevingne and the instantly recognisable seasoned professional, Kate Moss.

The two British models, almost twenty years apart in age, were photographed for the black and white ad campaign by by Mario Testino for the fragrance created with perfumer Francis Kurkdjian.

Interestingly 22-year-old Cara Delevingne is also the 'face' or 'body' of Tom Ford's new Black Orchid fragrance billboard, although you'd think there'd be some non-competitive brand clause in the model's contract, or maybe that doesn't apply so much in fashion.
My Burberry fragrance billboard
Launched well in advance of the forthcoming gift-giving season, the standard landscape billboard for the timeless new perfume was snapped along L.A.'s Sunset Plaza on September 6.

Meanwhile the super-sized 'cheek to cheek' wallscape creative was photographed on October 2, although the full effect was slightly ruined by the sheer amount of major construction currently taking place along the Sunset Strip.

Lately another giant-sized billboard has appeared along Sunset Boulevard, near the border of West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, this one with the ladies sitting atop a giant bottle of the perfume was spied on November 23, 2014.

If you're a fan of the fashion house, be sure to check out these previous Burberry outdoor ad campaigns.

Disney Into the Woods movie billboards...

Giant Disney Into the Woods movie billboard
The battle for the Christmas box office is about to begin, so are you ready to go Into the Woods this holiday season courtesy of Disney?
Disney Into the Woods movie billboard
From the looks of these eerie billboards for the movie adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's Tony-winning musical, Meryl Streep's going to do her very best to claw her way to the coveted top spot as the 'Witch'.
Giant Disney Into the Woods movie billboard
Rob Marshall directs an all-star cast in this modern twist on several beloved fairytales, all intertwined with an original tale of the 'Baker and his Wife' (James Corden and Emily Blunt) who want to start a family, but have been cursed by the Witch.
Disney Into the Woods film billboard
Anna Kendrick plays 'Cinderella' and Chris Pine her not-so-charming 'Prince', Lilla Crawford plays 'Little Red Riding Hood' and Johnny Depp stars as 'The Wolf', whilst Mackenzie Mauzy is the long-haired 'Rapunzel' and Daniel Huttlestone is 'Jack', the boy with the infamous Beanstalk.
Giant Meryl Streep Into the Woods movie billboard
This twisted tale is certainly darker fare than some would expect from Disney and these outdoor ad creatives with the immensely bankable Meryl Streep certainly reflect that, but Daily Billboard is sure purist fans of the source material may be slightly worried about the 'Disney-fication' of the musical.

The giant-sized wallscape with Meryl Streep towering over L.A.'s Sunset Plaza was snapped on November 21, whilst the standard landscape billboard was spotted further west along Santa Monica Boulevard in Westwood.
Into the Woods movie billboard
Only time will tell if audiences will accept Into the Woods with open arms, especially as there've been so many other contemporary takes on fairytales in recent years, including ABC's Once Upon a Time TV series.

Not all have been successful updates, but for more feature films inspired by fairytales and fables, be sure to also check out these Jack the Giant Slayer billboards, Red Riding Hood movie billboards, Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters billboards and these Snow White & the Huntsman movie billboards, to name but a few.

Dare you venture Into the Woods this Holiday season?

UPDATED: Here's also a slightly amended creative for awards season consideration for Best Picture, snapped along Santa Monica Boulevard in West L.A. on January 3, 2015.

The Librarians series premiere TV billboards...

Librarians series premiere billboard
Who you gonna call when fighting the forces of evil, why The Librarians of course. Wait, what?!?

TNT's new weekly TV series is based on their made-for-TV movie franchise The Librarian starring Noah Wyle, which has already spawned three movies, The Librarian: Quest for the Spear debuted in 2004, followed by 2006's Return to King Solomon's Mines and 2008's Curse of the Judas Chalice.

Ten years later and The Librarians, complete with original and new cast members led by Rebecca Romijn, continue to guard ancient treasures, hunt relics and protect the outside world from supernatural forces and powerful magical objects.
The Librarians season 1 billboard
The episodic series sounds like a mash up of Indiana Jones, Warehouse 13, and more genre shows than you could shake a book at, and the ad creative has a slightly dated Buffy the Vampire Slayer feel to it (which may be what TNT were hoping for).

The corner wall billboards for The Librarians were spied near Times Square in New York City on November 3, plus along West Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard on November 12, 2014.
