This time he's setting aside his high-tech toys and Avenger friends and looking far more serious for his new drama, The Judge.
In the film directed by David Dobkin, he stars as 'Henry "Hank" Palmer', a successful lawyer who returns to his Indiana hometown for his mother's funeral only to discover his father the town's Judge, 'Joseph Palmer' (Robert Duvall), is a murder suspect.
Now he must put aside his feelings for his estranged father and help discover the truth and defend him in court against a prosecutor, played by Billy Bob Thornton, determined to put him away.
These ad creatives certainly give you the impression that this film is much more serious fare than Robert Downey Jr.'s film recent excursions as billionaire playboy 'Tony Stark', or eccentric English detective 'Sherlock Holmes' (although the jury is still out on whether audiences can see him as anything but these characters now).
The landscape version was first spied along Santa Monica Boulevard in Westwood on September 14 and later in multiple locations along Beverly Boulevard, whilst the squarer format ad was snapped along Wilshire Boulevard on September 26 and at The Grove shopping centre on October 5, 2014.Daily Billboard much prefers the squarer format ad creative as it feels far less somber and worthy than the landscape design, plus it immediately says courtroom drama and feels like his father is sitting in judgement of him. But what do you think?
