To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Seattle rock band, the legendary group traveled the musical map of America taking in all the local inspiration and history, and documented their eight-city recording odyssey for all to see.
This new docu-series directed by the band's frontman, Dave Grohl, certainly sounds like an interesting and unique way to produce an album and this rear view mirror ad creative for the show totally conveys that sense of being on the road.
The giant-sized Sonic Highways billboard was first snapped towering over the Sunset Strip on September 26, whilst the standard landscape version was spotted along Wilshire Boulevard and smaller ad creative along Highland Avenue on October 5, 2014.
This evocative ad creative is definitely a design that works much better in landscape, rather than a portrait version, as it doesn't feel so squeezed together and you can see much more of the concept.
And if music rocks your world, be sure to check out these other music-themed and recording artist billboards. Plus for another fun rear view mirror ad creative, take a look at this DeLeón Tequila billboard.
Have a great weekend, wherever the road takes you.
