Is Daily Billboard the only one who thinks the end of the world looks like a good dollop of ice-cream?!? Regardless of your frame of reference it still makes for an interesting visual.
In all seriousness though, the plight of our oceans is a global problem and it's worrying the amount of chemicals, plastic, oil spills and pollution that is being pumped into the planet's water that covers 71% of Earth, not to mention the overfishing that is taking place.
This Netflix documentary sees the world from a very different perspective, under water.
Part underwater adventure and part eco-expose, the film follows the mission of legendary oceanographer, marine biologist and environmental activist, Dr. Syliva Earle, in her campaign to create global marine sanctuaries in the way we also protect the land, before it's too late.
These engaging Mission Blue billboards were spied along La Cienega Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard in West L.A. on August 23, 2014.
With the advent of streaming services like Netflix you can only imagine that must be a good thing for documentary filmmakers hoping to bring their unique, sometimes not overly commercial, stories to a broader audience.
Just remember, no ocean, no life. No ocean, no us. That's a powerful message.
