Happy Friday people. Here are a few fun billboards to get you in the mood for the weekend.
AIDS Healthcare Foundation are no stranger to using national monuments and historic icons to get their safe sex message across, just take a look at this Statue of Liberty STD billboard and Mona Lisa ad creative, so it should come as no surprise that they'd turn to The Golden State's own flag for inspiration for their next parody (or should we say homage, to avoid hurting any sensitive souls or egos).
This new spoof ad creative features a take on California's flag with its iconic grizzly bear hiding its head in shame upon learning that its home ranks number two in the U.S. for syphilis cases. Not a statistic to be proud of.
Meanwhile the San Diego Zoo has its own spin on the state animal for a less serious subject matter, with these fun ads with an Australian Koala mimicking the bear's original pose for their Koalafornia Australian Outback attraction.
The AHF grizzly bear and singular koala creative were both spied on July 22, 2014, the former along Santa Monica Boulevard and the latter along Sunset Boulevard, whilst the group of koalas was snapped last June 3, 2013 along Highland Avenue.
Be sure to check out these other clever AIDS Healthcare Foundation billboards helping to get their safe sex message across in interesting ways.
