Sex Tape movie billboards...

Sex Tape movie billboard
Have you ever done anything by accident that you really, really regretted?

That's the premise of Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel's new R-rated comedy, about a married couple who try and recapture the passion of their youth by making a Sex Tape, only to have it automatically synch with their cloud storage for all their friends, family and work colleagues to see.

In the new comedy from the director of Bad Teacher, Jake Kasden, to spice up their marriage which has descended into the exhausting pedestrian life of daily chores, work and parenthood, the couple decide to make their own private dirty movie to reignite the magic in the bedroom department.

Unfortunately, like most people these days, they find the wonders of modern technology has totally bitten them in the behind and they'll go to any lengths to make sure the people they know never see their homemade Sex Tape.

The standard landscape billboard versions for the movie were first spied along Melrose Avenue and Beverly Boulevard on June 18, whilst the full body portrait ad creative was snapped along at Hollywood's Sunset & Vine the following week.

The alternative 'They forgot to delete it' ad creatives, with Cameron Diaz looking suitably aghast, were spotted driving along Venice Boulevard and along Robertson Boulevard on June 24, 2014.

Daily Billboard also likes the nice design touch with the play symbol in the 'P' of Tape on the landscape version of the ads, it's the little things that count.

UPDATED: Managed to spy another unobscured version of the square 'They forgot to delete it' billboard along Fairfax Avenue on June 30, 2014. Also realised if you Google 'Sex Tape' movie it's a bit of a minefield, so interesting choice of name.

Strong Los Angeles LGBT Center billboard
With LGBT Pride month drawing to a close in the U.S. (once again thank you President Obama for making this happen), Daily Billboard couldn't let this celebration go past without highlighting the work of one of the organisations actively helping to make gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people's lives better in our community.
Compassionate Los Angeles LGBT Center billboard
The Los Angeles LGBT Center has cared for, championed and celebrated the LGBT communities of L.A. since 1969 and now it's rolled out this billboard campaign with its new logo and a continued commitment to being the world's largest provider or programs and services for LGBT people.

This simple and colourful 'hands' campaign is a clever approach as it highlights the core brand values and attributes of the organization, Compassionate, Courageous, Inspirational, Strong and Relentless, plus the wealth of diversity the center supports, all genders, ethnicities, young and old.

By using the universal imagery of hands everyone can identify with the concept, overcoming the problem of anyone objecting to the choice of model used if their face didn't connect with the passersby.
Compassionate Los Angeles LGBT Center billboard
These vibrant billboards filled with positivity were spied around the streets of L.A., along Highland Avenue, Beverly Boulevard, Melrose Avenue and Fairfax Avenue, from June 4 to June 20, 2014.

Superjail! season four TV billboard...

Superjail! season 4 Adult Swim billboard
The Warden and the crazy inmates of Superjail! are back to serve another season within the surreal prison that exists within a volcano within another volcano in the dimension of 5612, and knowing that, you can see why the fourth season promo billboard is so absurd, chaotic and mind-boggling.
Superjail season 4 billboard Sunset Strip
The head-trippy billboards for the animated Adult Swim show from the mind of Christy Karacas always deliver a riot of colour and kalediascopic concepts, enough to dazzle any passerby with the promise of more ridiculous prison brawls and a multitude of weird inmates.

This wonderfully bizarre season four billboard for Superjail! was snapped along Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood on June 12, 2014, and if you like this ad creative, be sure to check out this Superjail! season two billboard and season three promo billboard.

Ray Donovan season two TV billboards...

Ray Donovan season 2 billboard
Liev Schreiber is back as the calm, cool and connected professional 'fixer' of Hollywoodland for a second season of Ray Donovan on Showtime.
Liev Schreiber Ray Donovan season 2 billboard
He may have a talent for making the problems of L.A's elite go away, be they high-profile celebrities or high-ranking business magnates, but he also has a pretty complicated relationship with his father (played by Jon Voight), which can make for all kinds of difficulties in his line of work.
Ray Donovan season 2 billboard
This season two Ray Donovan billboard, with the titular tough character against the backdrop of a recognisable nighttime L.A. cityscape, was snapped along Westwood Boulevard on June 18 and along La Cienega Boulevard on June 25, 2014.
Ray Donovan season 2 billboard
Daily Billboard wonders if having Jon Voight as a haunting presence in the background would have made a nice addition to the ad creative, but this is still a striking billboard.

Earth to Echo movie billboards...

Earth to Echo movie billboard
"E.T. phone home", no wait, wrong movie.

But you can understand the confusion, as this ad creative for new science fiction movie, Earth to Echo, clearly evokes Spielberg's classic Extra-Terrestrial movie from 1982 - the outstretched glowing finger, the alien with big eyes, it's all very familiar.
Earth to Echo film billboard
In Relativity's Summer family adventure, four school friends must unite to save a stranded alien on Earth (the titular 'Echo'), after receiving a series of bizarre, encrypted messages on their phones (are you sure this isn't E.T.?).
Earth to Echo film billboard
These sweet Earth to Echo movie billboards were snapped along La Cienega Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue on June 12, 2014.

Let's hope this movie doesn't simply turn out to be another tired homage to a bygone age and that it can offer something fresh and exciting for a new generation.

Deliver Us From Evil movie billboards...

Deliver Us From Evil movie billboard
Are you ready for the latest horror movie to (hopefully) scare you silly this Summer?
Deliver Us From Evil movie billboard
Deliver Us From Evil comes armed with the usual visual horror tropes of religious exorcisms and satanic worship, plus purports to be actually based on the real accounts of an NYPD cop (because as you know they are experts in the occult and demonic possession).
Deliver Us From Evil straightjacket billboard
Eric Bana stars at the NY police officer, 'Ralph Sarchie', who teams with an unconventional priest, 'Mendoza' (Edgar Ramirez), to combat the demonic evil terrorising their city.
Deliver Us From Evil film billboard
Ever since the success of movies like The Conjuring and The Purge, film studios have moved up their horror movies to the Summer months compared to when they'd traditionally be launched later in the year near the build up to Halloween season.
Deliver Us From Evil exorcism movie billboard
These Deliver Us From Evil 'exorcism' billboards were first spotted along Sunset Boulevard on June 11, with another landscape version spotted along Melrose Avenue a week later.

The squarer version was snapped at the busy intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Glen Boulevard, plus the smaller 'straightjacket' ad creative was photographed along Beverly Boulevard on on June 18, 2014.

Let's hope this new supernatural movie can at least deliver us from boredom and tired horror cliches if nothing else this Summer.

The Bridge season two TV billboards...

The Bridge season 2 billboard
This Summer two very different worlds collide once again in the sophomore season of FX's dark drama, The Bridge.
The Bridge season 2 billboard
After cooperating in the first season to stop a deadly serial killer, Diane Kruger returns as the El Paso detective 'Sonya Cross' along with Demian Bichir as her Mexican counterpart from across the border, 'Marco Ruiz', for more murder mysteries to solve, missing girls of Juarez to find, ongoing police corruption and drug cartel problems to deal with.

Also returning as series regulars this season are Matthew Lillard and Emily Rios as the El Paso Times reporters with their own investigation into the Millie Quintana Money House (a 100-year-old woman keeping watch over the cartel's millions), which will led them to cross pass with the detectives this season.

The Strain series premiere TV billboards...

The Strain series premiere billboard
Now here's something to wake you up at the start of your working week and Daily Billboard wouldn't blame you if you feel the need to rub your eyes after seeing these series premiere billboards for FX's new Summer horror, The Strain.
The Strain two eyes billboard
There's nothing like watching a worm parasite crawl out of someone's eye to get your attention, and regardless of whether it's the ad creative featuring one eye or two, it's a compelling sight (if you like this kind of thing).
The Strain series premiere billboard
These grisly billboards are not for the squeamish or the faint of heart and we're not bashing it, but it makes Daily Billboard wonder when graphic imagery became the norm and such a part of everyday life.
The Strain series premiere FX billboard
There's something retro about the feel of these ads and the name itself, The Strain, feels like a throwback to some 80's horror movie (which is a good thing) and the blue, white and red colour combination makes for real stand out in the skies of L.A. at the moment, there's nothing else quite like it.
Strain season 1 FX billboard
The supernatural series is Hellboy's Guillermo del Toro and LOST's Carlton Cuse's take on vampires based on the the filmmaker's book trilogy of the same name. The thirteen episode series follows House of Cards' Corey Stoll as a CDC epidemiologist as he battles an outbreak of a parasitic virus transforming New Yorkers into plasma-loving creatures.
The Strain series premiere billboard
The one-eyed version, which is Daily Billboard's preferred creative for the sheer impact (and often less is more), was spied along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip on June 16, 2014, and the ad creative with both eyes was spotted making a spectacle of itself along La Cienega Boulevard and Beverly Boulevard the next day.

If you're a fan of the visionary filmmaker, be sure to also check out these movie billboards for Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.
The Strain FX billboard
This Summer get ready to squirm, just like a worm.
The Strain series launch billboard
UPDATED: After much controversy with the graphic nature of the first creative for The Strain series launch, FX has debuted a second less gory, yet still mysterious, billboard for their new vampire show.
The Strain version 2 series launch billboard
Daily Billboard understands the complaints from parents of small children and from those people who are not horror fans who don't want to see a worm emerging from an eyeball on their drive to work, but you have to wonder if this was just the publicity and response FX wanted for their new horror series.
The Strain launch billboard version 2 Sunset Strip
Has this kind of shock tactic backfired though, as lots of people have vowed not to want the show now because of the initial billboard, but the question is, would they have ever watched a show of this nature and has the extra exposure and social media furore been exactly what The Strain needed to secure an audience.

Daily Billboard also remembers that the snake-themed billboard for American Horror Story: Coven last year was fairly graphic, but never received this kind of backlash.
The Strain version 2 season 1 billboard
Meanwhile this slightly warped second ad creative for The Strain was snapped along L.A.'s Sunset Strip on July 3, 2014.

Now, will you be watching or not?
