In the classic 1976 supernatural horror Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie played the infamous daughter and mother combo, one a telekinetic teenage outcast and the other her abusive religious parent.
For her portrayal as Carrie, Spacek was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress and Laurie for Supporting Actress, so those are pretty impressive and daunting shoes to fill.
Fortunately this incarnation of the tormented high school student who's pushed too far at her senior prom and exacts revenge against her small town, is played by the stellar Chloe Grace Moretz and what's more, her mother is Julianne Moore, so Daily Billboard thinks we may be in good hands.
It's still a remake though and we essentially know the story, so the challenge will be to be true to the original story, but to bring something new and inventive to the mix, and we're not just talking about better special effects.

At least the ad campaign for the Carrie remake is pretty compelling and certainly grabs your attention.
The fiery standard landscape billboard was first spotted along La Brea Avenue in Hollywood on September 23, whilst the smaller billboard and bus shelter poster creatives were spied on October 5, along Fairfax Avenue.
The large, striking portrait 'You will know her name' creative was photographed at Sunset & Vine on October 7, 2013.
If you're a fan of Chloe Grace Moretz, be sure to also check out these cool Kick-Ass movie billboards in which she plays Hit-Girl.
Looks like it's time to fear the name Carrie again, just in time for Halloween.
