The Dictator billboard Wilshire Blvd
Sacha Baron Cohen, the crazy mastermind behind 'Borat' and 'Ali G', is back with a new controversial character coming soon to the big screen, The Dictator.

This super-sized billboard with its painted portrait theme really stands out along Wilshire Boulevard on March 1, 2012 and makes for a great tease for this new comedy.

However, you'll notice that other than a spectacular visual there's no film title or website address for passersby to find out more information about the ad, even on this other parody creative snapped atop the Hollywood & Highland Center on March 7.

No stranger to controversy, here are two bonus billboards for Sacha Baron Cohen's 'Bruno' movie from along Sunset Boulevard in June and July 2009.
Bruno movie billboard
The mockumentary comedy about a gay Austrian fashion journalist was a bit of a flop, maybe because it wasn't as funny as previous endeavours, but also due in part to it being pretty offensive to the gay community with its homophobic stereotypes.
Giant Bruno movie billboard
This time the comedian has turned his sights and satire onto a Dictator of a fictional Middle Eastern country who opposes democracy.
The Dictator movie billboard
Let's face it, this film is going to be very polarizing and you're either going to love it or hate it, although you have to admit these huge billboards are extremely eye-catching.

Be sure to also check out the giant Tintin billboard and super-sized Kung Fu Panda 2 billboard that have appeared in this same location along Wilshire Boulevard.

This billboard was snapped along Westwood Boulevard in Westwood on April 1, 2012.
The Dictator movie billboardThe only issue that Daily Billboard has with this campaign is that if you haven't seen any of the PR stunts with this new character then you may be at a loss to what this billboard is for, is it a new comedy show, is it a movie or something else entirely?
Dictator billboard Sunset Strip
UPDATED: Continuing the sporting theme, here's another huge billboard for The Dictator snapped along L.A.'s Sunset Strip on April 10, 2012. This hilarious creative has a player seemingly dead on the tennis court behind the ruler of Wadiya (he obviously doesn't like to lose), with the oil fields in the background for a Middle Eastern flavor.

Paramount is certainly throwing money behind their advertising budget with all these giant-sized creatives, let's hope it pays off for them.
Dictator movie flag billboard
UPDATED: Here's finally a creative for The Dictator which actually announces the film's title and does so with some flair. The flag special extension really has movement and the vibrant colours provide great stand out when you're passing by the billboard, to say nothing of the hilarious imagery of the comedian and his pet bird of prey sat atop his throne.

This eye-catching ad was snapped along Beverly Boulevard at Laurel Avenue on April 24, plus a similar larger flag creative was snapped along Sunset Boulevard on May 3, 2012.
