The Tudors season four TV billboard...

Tudors season 4 TV billboardA bit less risque than previous billboards for The Tudors, but this version for the fourth and final season of the series is just as eye-catching.

As anyone who watched the previous seasons will know, the television show chronicles King Henry VIII's reign and his six wives, along with the political, religious and sexual scheming that surrounded them.

Having Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the 16th Century British King with his arms outstretched in the shape of the cross helps evoke the religious connotations of the series, with the conflict between the Catholic Church and the Church of England. The accompanying imagery of his six wives lined up on either side behind him is a fitting way to bring the series to a close, as the final season will tell the story on his last two wives, Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr, and his ultimate descent into madness.

This billboard for season four of The Tudors was photographed along La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood on March 26, 2010.

Maker's Mark 9000 Sunset Boulevard billboard...

Maker's Mark 9000 Sunset Blvd Building billboardLightning strikes twice this month for Maker's Mark here at Daily Billboard, with another humorous creative execution along the Sunset Strip in L.A.

I love the playful nature of this spectacular wall billboard on the side of the 9000 Sunset Boulevard building and how it has some fun with the creative concept.

This extra large advertisement for the premium bourbon whisky was photographed on March 4, 2010.

Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl movie billboard...

Kick-Ass graffiti movie billboard
HERO WEEK may be over, but here's two more heroes to add to last week's pantheon, Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl.

Daily Billboard loves this street graffiti style billboard for the forthcoming uber-violent 'Kick-Ass' movie (opening in the USA on April 16, and already released in the UK on March 26, 2010). Aside from having real stand-out, it perfectly conveys the real-life aspects of the ordinary teenager turned hero when he dons a ski suit and mask to fight crime.

Photographed on Melrose Avenue on March 26, 2010 this billboard is just super-cool and features the titular hero, Kick-Ass, played by Aaron Johnson and Hit-Girl, played by Chloe Moretz.

Fernando Verdasco Calvin Klein X underwear billboard...

Fernando Verdasco Calvin Klein X underwear billboardSpanish professional tennis star Fernando Verdasco follows Kellan Lutz's fine example and graces the Calvin Klein billboard along Sunset Boulevard for their new men's underwear range X.

He is one of four men chosen to model for the new global marketing campaign for the sexy underwear line. This billboard was photographed in L.A. on March 24, 2010.

It's amazing what playing tennis can do for your physique (aside from getting you a modeling contract with Calvin Klein, that is).

This version starred Edward Norton and not Eric Bana, as the scientist alter-ego, Dr. Bruce Banner, of the misunderstood jade giant.

This menacing billboard is really impactful and was photographed at the top of La Cienega Boulevard at Sunset Boulevard on August 15, 2008.

GI Joe Snake Eyes movie billboardToday's action hero is the silent, but deadly, G.I. Joe ninja operative 'Snake Eyes' from the live-action movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, based on the hit Hasbro toy-line and cartoon series.

Daily Billboard thinks the movie lived up to the billboard promise of guns, swords, destruction and wall-to-wall action.

This film billboard was photographed on Highland Avenue on July 7, 2009.

Clawing his way into HERO WEEK here at Daily Billboard is the buff Hugh Jackman in his first solo outing as Wolverine in X-Men Origins.

HERO WEEK: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie billboards...

Harry Potter and the half-Blood Prince film billboard
As the movies themselves improve for Harry Potter, so too does the advertising campaign and Daily Billboard thinks this is a suitably dramatic and foreboding billboard for the Hogwarts Hero.

DB loves the tinted blue colour scheme and think the billboard creative has great movement in it.

This billboard for the sixth movie installment was photographed at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and La Brea Avenue on July 7, 2009.

HERO WEEK: Silk Spectre II Watchmen movie billboard...

Silk Spectre II Watchmen movie billboard
Daily Billboard loves this awesome billboard for the Watchmen movie.

There was a heavy weight advertising campaign for the adaptation of the cult comic book classic around L.A. leading up to March 2009, which featured both Watchmen team creatives and also individual character spotlights like this sexy Silk Spectre II billboard.

This heroic billboard was photographed at the corner of Santa Monica Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue on February 11, 2009.

HERO WEEK: Clash of the Titans movie billboards...

Clash of the Titans movie billboard
Yes, it's time for another fantastic themed week here at Daily Billboard, so if you like comic book legends, sci-fi, fantasy and mythical heroes, enjoy the variety of billboards that will be featured daily all week long.

To kick us off we have the mythical Greek hero Perseus, astride the legendary winged horse Pegasus, taking on the monstrous Kraken for the movie remake of Clash of the Titans. It's a fantastic action-packed billboard that really stands out along Sunset Boulevard.

Sam Worthington, of Avatar and Terminator Salvation fame, stars as the heroic Perseus and the fantasy film promises to be a visual feast just like this dramatic billboard photographed on March 4, 2010.

Sam Edelman risque shoes billboard...

Provocative Sam Edelman naked female shoes billboard
At first glance would you think that this provocative billboard featuring a nearly naked lady, with strategically placed finger over her nipple, was an advert for shoes? Daily Billboard has to say it's not the first thing that comes to mind (no matter how luxurious or exclusive the brand).

But having said that, it's brave and bold, and certainly an attention grabber along Sunset Boulevard at Doheny Drive.

This risque fashion billboard was snapped on March 4, 2010. Obviously there's a reason they call it the 'Sunset Strip'.

Maker's Mark Extras Wanted billboard...

Maker's Mark bourbon Extras Wanted billboard
This ad for Maker's Mark bourbon whisky made Daily Billboard smile with its play on words 'Extras Wanted'. We're sure bourbon lovers would want more once they tasted it and the humour works especially well in Hollywood, where there is a wealth of aspiring actors on hand waiting for their big break.

The creative is quite simple, but really stands out along Sunset Boulevard with the tops of the three bottles breaking out from the top of the billboard and catching your eye as you drive or walk past.

It can even be seen from afar when you are walking at Runyon Canyon and looking down at the sprawling L.A. basin. The billboard was photographed on the corner of N Gardner Street on March 12, 2010.

Armani Exchange men's underwear model billboard...

Hot Armani Exchange male underwear model billboard
You can tell summer is just around the corner when hot billboards like this start popping up all over town. They just make you want to rush to the beach, or is that buy men's underwear?

Featured in Armani Exchange's Spring 2010 campaign is buff male model Clint Mauro, who was born in 1986 and is from Indiana. His Italian-American good looks and ripped body certainly make me want to buy Armani underwear.

This eye-catching billboard was photographed at the top of La Cienega Boulevard where it joins the Sunset Strip on March 16, 2010.

Armani is certainly bring out the big guns in terms of models, but if you prefer gorgeous women, check out Emporio Armani's Megan Fox lingerie billboard.

Blue Man Group Las Vegas billboards...

Blue Man Group Las Vegas billboard
Daily Billboard loves this quirky billboard for the Blue Man Group which perfectly conveys their performance humour, clearly identifies where you can see their act and suggests how to book tickets.

Obviously being a blue, bald-headed trio helps to catch your eye and the visual gag of the Las Vegas showgirl costume really is quite simple and effective.

The fun billboard was photographed next to the Animal Hospital on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City on March 11, 2010.

UPDATED: This billboard without the special extension headdress was also spotted along Santa Monica Boulevard on July 5, 2011.

Nurse Jackie season two TV billboard...

Nurse Jackie season 2 TV billboard
To promote the debut season of Nurse Jackie there was the hilarious 'Life is full of little pricks' strapline with an accompanying tongue-in-cheek image for the advertising creative.

The season two billboard has Edie Falco's head surrounded by a medical halo and the 'Holy Shift' tagline.

Now this is what billboard advertising is all about - fun, attention-grabbing, intriguing imagery. Apparently the use of humour increases an ad's rate of recall, so Daily Billboard is sure people will remember this quirky creative.

This second season Nurse Jackie TV billboard was photographed on Sunset Boulevard on March 4, 2010.

The billboard also features LOST's Emilie de Ravin, his love interest in the movie.

Svedka Vodka Bot or Not billboard...

Svedka Vodka Bot or Not billboard
Daily Billboard loves this Svedka Vodka creative campaign not only for their oddly alluring feminine robots, but also for the fact it can claim to be the No.1 vodka without any brand credentials by suggesting it's voted the best in the future. Genius.

It's a very clever advertising campaign and their billboards are always quirky, colourful and have a sense of fun.

This billboard was photographed on Sunset Boulevard on March 4, 2010.
