The internet has really revolutionised people's approach to dating and sex. Forget meeting in bars, or placing a personal ad in the classified section, chat forums, dating websites and now smartphone apps have led to a radically different approach to potentially finding a lover or spouse, cheating on your partner, or just finding someone to have some fun with.
They've come a long way since then, and this new bold red billboard, also snapped along the Sunset Strip on February 11, 2016, is less logo-centric, will a simpler, more focused message promising more dates, sorry adventures, for you.
Also appearing the skies recently is one of the latest apps, Bumble, which was founded by Whitney Wolfe, the co-founder of Tinder. This app puts the power of the dating experience into the hands of women who have to initiate the conversation by swiping right.
This 'Find your honey' billboard for Bumble, which obviously doesn't help you find the best organic honey at your local store, was snapped along the busy Sunset Strip on January 21, 2016.
Meanwhile Sugar Models seems to be for a different kind of woman, who's looking for a rich sugar daddy to pamper her and help her live the glamorous lifestyle in exchange for 'companionship'.
Well if there's one place full of beautiful young women and older wealthy gentlemen, it's Hollywood.
This subtle Sugar Models billboard was spied along Sunset Boulevard on January 8, 2016, and even though the name implies what it could be for, you really have to visit the website to understand the full implications.
If you were a parent and saw this 'Happy 18th Birthday' billboard and your out-of-work actress/waitress daughter had just moved to L.A. would you be worried?

UPDATED: Grindr seem to have expanded their advertising focus beyond just being a hookup app with their latest billboards for their #Grindr4Equality ad campaign, trying to connect on the social issues that affect the gay community they service.
UPDATED: Sugar Models is back in the skies and it looks like they are being more explicit this time with their message, offering dating, arrangements and a social club. Sounds like a new generation Playboy Mansion. This billboard was snapped at the corner of La Brea Avenue and Sunset Boulevard on July 27, 2016.

UPDATED: Here's another equality billboard from Grindr about electing LGBT officials in Colombia, snapped along Santa Monica Boulevard on October 3, 2016, proving that the company (which has it's headquarters in West Hollywood) wants to be seen as more than just a hookup app.
