In the old days you could find secondhand furniture for sale in newspaper classified ads, at yard sales, flea markets, charity and antique shops, and in more recent years on websites like eBay and Craigslist.
Now the San Francisco based startup Move Loot wants to make buying and selling used furniture even easier, and recently had this fun outdoor ad campaign to help spread the word.
Rather than showing actual photographed furniture, which can often feel dull in advertising, they've used a combination of furniture illustrations and humorous copy tailored for the Hollywood movie and television loving audience.
The idea behind the service is that you submit your items for appraisal via an app or on their website, they pick up your furniture, take to their warehouse, clean up and photograph professionally to sell it for you online.
Meanwhile if you're a market for some furniture and want an alternative to expensive store prices, they have a wide selection of chairs, tables, dressers, beds and more to choose from from local sellers, which they can deliver to your door.
These intriguing Move Loot billboards were snapped along Pico Boulevard, La Cienega Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard from October 9 to October 17, 2015.
What's your furniture preference, something squeaky clean and new, or something with a more storied history?
