These minimalist ads are so compelling and arresting, they don't even need the name of the show to attract attention.
Falling man Mad Men season 5 billboard
To regular viewers they immediately scream 'Mad Men' with the suited falling man imagery from the show's opening title sequence, alongside the black, white and red colour scheme and recognisable font for the series air date.

It really is a daring and dramatic campaign, but it stands to reason that a television series about a prestigious advertising agency would have some rather impressive ads themselves.

The giant billboard really does help give the creative maximum effect, as that's an awfully long way to fall.

As a bonus today, enjoy this more traditional season three billboard with the enigmatic 'Don Draper' looking down over Fountain Avenue at Highland Avenue on August 19, 2009.

Don Draper is back and it looks like he's contemplating a life with pipe and slippers, and a subservient wife. The faceless naked female mannequin is a nice touch and so too is Don's face reflected in the store window, looking in on his life and also looking out.

  1. Since this campaign is garnering a lot of love (and controversy too), I'd thought I'd let you know who came up with the ideas seen here. Lennon Courtney, creative director/writer. Craig Anderson, creative director/art director. Gina Roberts, writer. Kyle Kelly, art director. Agency: The Richards Group. We've been working on projects for AMC since before Season 1 of MM aired. We love this client. So sophisticated. Thanks for the recognition!
