The Beatles iTunes billboards...

The Beatles iTunes billboard Sunset Strip
Who'd have thought we'd ever see a massive billboard for The Beatles in this day and age. I certainly didn't.

I have to say this billboard creative to mark their debut on iTunes still looks incredibly relevant. The fab foursome look like they could easily be a contemporary rock band, rather than the iconic band that changed a generation of music.

You have to wonder where this great image came from too. Even with it being given the Apple makeover, it's still a fantastic photo of The Beatles and yet it seems brand new, as if it's been unearthed from some private vault.

The large, full length body billboard of the group was snapped along the Sunset Strip just down from the Chateau Marmont Hotel and the smaller version at the corner of Fairfax and Melrose Avenue in L.A. on November 26, 2010.

  1. You write,

Your review suggests you're pleased by this development, but I feel compelled to ask, have you been checking their sales figures over the last 10 years? Are you aware they out-sell 90 percent of rock bands, and that their music sells out a substantial theater in Las Vegas every night of the week? Just askin'. ;-)

  2. All valid points Bob.

I do think they are great billboards, it's just you don't see music billboards too often compared to other advertisers, especially for groups with band members no longer living. Most music billboards I've seen are for specific live concerts.

I hope iTunes can more great images like this one in the future :)

    Hello,
I have very much the same but the photograph
I`ve taken is when the Beatles, where much
younger probably around the early 1960`s.
The one above look`s like the late 1960`s even
I guess 1970`s before the group broke up. But I
can`t be sure. Thank You for posting.
